Yes I did... I was wearing a spectacular red Victorian dress (like the one Mina wears in Dracula!) and I was at prom for less than two hours because I got bored, those things suck! My date Arlene had a better idea... We went and each bought a bottle of *cringe* MD 20/20 and got plastered in the parking lot... Oh god, she was such an alcoholic...miss that girl... After, while obliterated and near unconsciousness, we hit the then-fabulous Kitchen Club and had obscene amounts of alcohol for 17-year-old girls... I woke up the next day on the beach, as in, the sand... It was great, and like a good little vamp, I nearly died when I realized I was getting a tan... It's funny, I can't imagine drinking nearly as much as I used to drink when it was illegal for me to drink... Hmmmm... I can't handle more than three drinks these days, and that's just the "soft variety" like wine or beer.. Give me a martini and I'm buzzed after just one... hmmmm.... I'm becoming too much of a good girl in my old age...

Indie Film Night...

So last night, at the doctors' recommendation *eyes Kelvin and Will* I didn't have the Irish spirit to drink them... But, I headed out to SpiderPussy for the very first Indie Film Night... I would have gotten my sweet butt kicked if I didn't go, be being the unofficial PR person for the event... I got there late, after the first movie was shown, which coincidentially was the one I really wanted to see (Irish Luck by Franco Parente)... Anyway, I did catch the rest of them, but I can't remember their titles right now... I liked O-pressed, a stop motion animation involving several antique ironers and a white dress jacket... A buddying Svankmajer, the maker... Overall, it was a pretty decent turnout for the event, in spite of the ugly weather and the various St. Patty's celebrations... I am glad... Thanks for everyone who came out...

Tanya introduced me to her boyfriend and partner in this venture, she said I was the official PR person for Indie Nights, so there! hahaha... Then the guy who was playing host, amid his entertainment, proceeded to point at me and say "you look like Salma Hayek!".... I think I shrunk into the couch at that point... Then he's like "It's a compliment, really!" and then, for a final deathblow, he said "who in the audience doesn't agree that Salma Hayek is the hottest woman in Hollywood?" I nearly died, I was mortified... I thought he was going to add something like "and who thinks this girl looks like her?" I would have seriously committed suicide right then and there... I really wanted to punch the guy for putting me on the spot like that once the whole thing was over, but I actually ended up meeting him and he turned out to be a pretty cool, funny guy. An actor, whose play I will be checking out next month (Kreutzer Sonata, based on the Tolstoy story)... Anyway, I appreciated the compliment because I think Salma is stunning, but I don't think I look anything like her (though I've gotten this comparison many times before)... I'm like almost a foot taller than Salma and I could only wish I had her features (not to mention her curves), she really is a beauty... So yes, thanks, but er, I don't think so... *blush*

Oh, and I didn't have a sip of alcohol... I drank water and had a lollypop.... *pout*

...they seriously do.. I get pulled over for, like, having squeaky windshield wipers and all kinds of other stupid things...

After last night's brush with crime and the five-o, I got pulled over on my way home just now. Reason: Expired tag, for THREE FUCKING MONTHS!!! Ugh...My birthday was December 16th.... Oops... Well, to my defense, I left to L.A. on the 17th and was going to be there for three weeks, so I figured I'd take care of it when I got back... In reality, my dad usually takes care of all my car-related things... He was the one that was going to take care of it, but then we left, and what not... So I explained this to the officer...

...and then I forgot.

Nice cop. Good cop. Cute cop... Then he added: "You know, you should really take care of these things on your own so you don't have to worry about whether or not someone did it for you. You're a big girl now."

To which I added, along with my notorious eyelash batting: "Yes, but I'm a princess!"

And he said, with a grin: "Oh, I can see that..."

Ok...
Last night was Oscar night, so my beloved friends and I decided to throw a mock Oscar party complete with red carpet arrivals and interviews. Naturally, I got to play Joan Rivers. So I donned my new vintage brown gown, really gaudy gold jewelry from the collection, and brown and gold Gucci sunglasses. I looked....very Joan Rivers.... Our chef Cindy was making vegetarian gourmet lasagna and everyone was bringing their favorite wine... So, I left my house on the way to the Nymphs' Lair... (I have these four gorgeous girlfriends that live together in a house, hence the name. One of them is Cindy's sister, so yes, they're beautiful.)

I get to their house, I'm parking on the side of the street about two houses down from theirs. Suddenly, I'm surrounded by three cop cars and they're flashing their lights at me. What a way to make an entrace... So one of the officers step out of the vehicle and taps on my window. He asks me to remain inside the vehicle, hand him my license and registration. I'm like, "sure officer, no problem, but what did I do?" He's like, "well, we've received a burglary alarm from this house you're parked in front of. You've been sitting here for a while." Ok, so I had been sitting there for like, 5 minutes, fixing my make-up before making my red carpet grand entrance. He asked me where I was going. I pointed at the Nymphs' Lair, whose inhabitants were too wrapped up in their Oscar frenzy to notice the flashing disco lights outside their house. They probably thought it was a cool, appropriate effect. Le sigh.

I start laughing. I'm like "so, am I being held as a suspect?" The officer smiles and says I'm not, but they have to hold me for a few minutes until they find out if it was a false alarm or not, since I just happened to have been parked right in front of the house. I'm doing my best eyelash batting, dumb girl routine... "Well, I didn't see anyone run off wearing a ski mask, officer." He's all smiles. So they finally inspect the surroundings of the house and notice it's empty and no sign of any burglary. But they're still cornering me with those horrid lights on and they won't give me back my license. So I call the officer over again and explain to him that I'm late to my red carpet entrance and I've an Oscar party to host. I was almost tempted to ask him to escort me inside, so the girls would know that this time I wasn't late because I was playing a video game or having phone sex...(don't ask)...Finally, they released me free of charges *wink* and I went inside the Nymphs' Lair. I do have to say though, I would have made a very glamorous burglar...

I made my red carpet debut and started my fashion commentary special, microphone in hand... My pick for best dressed female? None other than one of my favorite actresses, Kate Blanchett, wearing one of my favorite designers, Valentino... They go so well together... She looked divine... Props to my other two favorite actresses Kate Winslet (in Badgley Mischka) and Natalie Portman (in Lanvin), their dresses were lovely too, goddesses... Bombshell Salma Hayek looked sooo sexy in Prada, I want to have her body... Gwynneth looked radiant in Stella McCartney's dress, first time I ever like any gown Ms. McCartney's ever made, not even when she was with Chloe... Charlize Theron's dress (Christian Dior) was pretty, but I do have to say I didn't like the top too much... Ziyi Zhang looked lovely in the Chantilly lace dress (I want it)... Hillary Swank's dress (by Guy Laroche) was fabulous, but I didn't like her hair/makeup, just not very feminine, maybe chandelier earrings would have helped... Best dressed man goes to Leo DiCaprio in Prada... Props to Morgan Freeman, he looked sharp, sexy, and cool in his Richard Tyler suit... Worst dressed female, sadly, goes to Scarlett Johannson, I'm going to have to do something about her, she seriously needs a new stylist... She's too beautiful to dress like that... Worst dressed man: Robin Williams, the poor dear... I heart him, though...

I have to say, I was impressed this year... Much more of an improvement from last year, and better than this year's Golden Globes... Mostly everyone looked stunning, lovely gowns, great suits... As for the actual Oscar awards, I didn't care much for it as usual... Hollywood is stupid and biased, for the most part... I knew my picks would be overlooked... Other than Cate Blanchett winning Best Supporting Actress and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind winning best original script, I didn't care much for the other awards... It was time Morgan Freeman won, too... I was torn between Don Cheadle and Johnny Depp as best Actors, and I wanted Kate Winslet for Best Actress.... So yeah...

I hate AIM, as most of you know.... But it's nice to talk to people sometimes outside of a work/game/school environment and see what's up with you all... Especially when you talk to someone, and they present you with this:

I think that was the night I went out with my friend Jessica and we ended up at some swanky bars with the Victoria's Secret photographer at the time who was totally in love with Jess and had shot her for some other campaign (this is back when Stephanie Seymour was still with VS, so yes, probably 4-5 years ago)... What was up with that outfit?! I can't believe Jess let me out of the house like that, I looked like a go go girl... The picture is grainy-looking, but the fishnet stockings did have some glittery silver effect to them... I remember I got those in NYC... But I'm sure that was the style back then, or the style I was trying to trendset... or something.... or I was drunk.... I look drunk... That's my drunk look.... Damn, I was skinny...
